Albion SC for the last 10 years has had testing of the players U8-U10 on the Albion SC Core Curriculum. Now I Soccer has come out with a Nation Wide standard testing to help promote the game technically for youth players as well as assess and measure players of all ages. This program fits right into our model and program to promote the game and advance our players technically. The I Soccer program compliments the clubwide curriculum of Albion SC and further challenges our players past the core curriculum of Albion SC which lays a foundation in each player to be successful.

"We looked long and hard at I Soccer and after really looking at it, recognized that it was a perfect fit to give our players something new and allow them to challenge themselves against their own teammates or players from around the country on a technical level. What will end up really happening is each player will challenge themselve’s more and in the end progress their individual game by gaining more touches and become more motivated to achieve success on the ball. We are excited to be launching the program at Albion SC immediately!" Technical Director, Noah Gins

Luis Cardona came to Albion SC to either play in college or get the opportunity to play professional soccer. The club recognized his talents and put him on a very progressive plan for him to achieve his goals. After the club took Luis to Brazil to gain professional experience and international travel Luis was recognized and asked to stay over with a few different clubs. Luis came back from Brazil and continued to train with Albion SC until the next opportunity was given. The club was able to open a door in Costa Rica for Luis and after several trials he was picked up by 2nd Division Club Barrrio Mexico. On July 9th Luis debuted in his first professional game against 1st Division Club Saprissa and he helped gain a 2-1 result in that game. Luis is an example to all youth players of what is possible when you are determined and have the work ethic to compliment the skills needed to play at the highest levels.

Note: Luis Cardona is the player in the middle smiling ear to ear.

Albion SC has formed a partnership with High Voltage Fitness in La Jolla after months of workouts with the BU16 and GU16 Premier teams and seeing dramatic results. Both of these teams got started in the summer with them training on off days from the club. The workouts are specialized training for our players in the area of strength and conditioning as well as speed and explosiveness. The training is led by Femi Ayanbadejo, an 11 year NFL veteran and Super Bowl Champion and Randy Shelton, the Head strength and conditioning coach for the Mens Basketball Team at San Diego State University. Femi not only offers the physical training that we want to expose our players to, but also the mental aspect. He is an athlete that has competed at the highest level and had great success.

The doors now are about to open for all Albion SC players to take advantage of this partnership and train with High Voltage on off days with the club.
