Q & A's
CAN WE ANSWER YOUR QUESTION?

Q - Do I need to provide proof of age for my child?
A - All new players to Peninsula Soccer League need to provide proof of age with a birth certificate only at the time of registration.  Returning player who played the previous soccer season, are exempt. If your child has missed or skipped a season please provide proof of age.

Q - When do teams begin practicing and when does the season start?
A - Teams can start practicing August 1st. Practice day and times are in large part at the coach’s discretion depending on his or her schedule. The actual season league games begin early September and end the weekend before Thanksgiving.

Q - Other teams have been contacted by a coach; why haven’t we heard from anyone?
A - Assuming your child has been assigned to a team and we have enough volunteer coaches, each coach has been asked to make all the contacts and notifications no later than August 1st, pending the coach’s schedule and availability.

Q - It’s already August 10th and a coach has not contacted us; what should we do?
A - First, contact your child’s age group league representative (found under the "league representative" page). If you need additional assistance contact the Director of Peninsula Soccer via E-mail.

Q - How do I know what age group my children play?
A - Age group is depending on his or her current age as of July 31st of the current year. If they are 6 on or before July 31st, they play U8; if they are 8 on July 31st, they play U10; if they are 10 on or before July 31st, they play U12; if they are 12 on or before July 31st, they play U14; if they are 14 on or before July 31st, they play U16 (Div. 2); and if they are 16 on or before July 31st, they play U19 (Div 1).

Q - How many practices a week do teams have?
A - PSL request that all teams have two-practice sessions per week. This does depend on the personal schedule of the coach and the age group of the team. Most U6-Micro teams practice two days a week in August and cut back to one session a week for the remainder of the season.

Q - Do we get uniforms?
A - A full uniform including a Puma jersey, shorts, and socks are provided to each player. U6-Micros are provided an equivalent jersey, shorts, and socks. Note: each player is responsible for shin guards and soccer cleats.

Q - How do I stay informed and up to date about Peninsula Soccer League?
A - Check the PSL calendar on the website often and stay in communication with your coach and League Rep. or E-mail the Director of Peninsula Soccer League with your questions at PSLDirector@peninsulasoccer.org.
